A troop of monkeys invaded a home and snatched a month-old baby which led to his death
The mother was breastfeeding the baby outside her house on Saturday afternoon when the troop of monkeys invaded the home and snatched the baby attempting to run away with the boy he died.
The mother of the baby is identified as Shayima living at Mwamgongo village in northern Tanzania, a village near Gombe national park.
Shayima tried to scream for help prompting villagers to rush out to rescue the baby boy from the monkeys, according to Kigoma Regional Police Commander James Manyama.
A neighbor’s rescue had to use force to get the baby back from the monkeys, the baby was injured on the head and neck.
Then he was rushed to the nearby hospital for medical attention but died while receiving treatment.
