Residents of Mukaka Landing Site in Bufumira Sub-county, Kalangala District, can now breathe a sigh of relief after Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) successfully captured a female crocodile suspected of being a man-eater, removing a potential threat to community safety.
The operation, conducted by UWA’s Problem Animal Control Unit (PACU), is part of ongoing efforts to protect communities from dangerous wildlife and minimise human-wildlife conflict.
The crocodile is being transported to the Karuma Sector of Murchison Falls Conservation Area, where it will be released into a suitable habitat away from human settlements.
